What Is Name and Number Alignment?
Name and number alignment is the practice of checking a chosen name or number against your birth chart to see whether the two suit each other. A date of birth is fixed, but a spelling, a mobile number or an account number can be selected — which is where alignment applies.
Why do names and numbers use different anchors?
Name alignment is checked against your Driver number; mobile, vehicle and account number alignment is checked against your Destiny number. The reasoning is that a name is identity, and the Driver is the identity number — while a long-lived number should suit a long-term direction, which is what the Destiny describes. This split is deliberate, and it means the two checks can recommend different digits for the same person.
What Is the Chaldean Letter Table?
Both calculations use Chaldean values, in which each letter carries a number from 1 to 8. No letter is assigned 9, which is treated as sacred in this tradition.

How Does Name Alignment Work?
A name is considered aligned when its reduced Chaldean value falls in the friendly set for your Driver number.

Compound totals for names. Before reducing, check the unreduced total. Compounds traditionally regarded as fortunate: 19, 21, 23, 37, 41, 46, 65. Compounds traditionally avoided as karmic-debt numbers: 13, 16, 18, 26, 43, 44, 48. A name whose compound total is on the avoid list is rejected even if it reduces to a friendly single digit.
The correction rule. Traditional practice makes the smallest change that works — one letter adjusted, a letter doubled, or an i changed to a y — and then uses the new spelling consistently everywhere. A correction applied in some places and not others is treated as no correction at all.
How Does Mobile and Account Number Alignment Work?
A number is considered aligned when its digit sum, reduced to a single digit, falls in the friendly set for your Destiny number.

Four further rules apply to numbers:
- The 8 rule. A number reducing to 8 is treated with caution unless 8 is in your friendly set, because of Saturn’s weight. For Destiny 8, a root of 8 is aligned rather than cautionary.
- Zero totals. Any number reducing to 0 is avoided as void.
- Warning compounds. Reject numbers whose two-digit running totals hit 13, 16, 18, 26 or 29.
- Repetition and last digit. Avoid three or more repetitions of a single digit, which over-concentrates one planet. Prefer a final digit that itself reduces into the friendly set.
What This Practice Does Not Do
Alignment does not change your grid. A name correction or a new mobile number adds no cells to the Lo Shu Grid, closes no Yog and fills no missing number — the grid comes from a fixed date of birth. What the tradition claims for alignment is smoother fit between a chosen label and an existing chart, not a change to the chart itself.
